Another lovely busy Fri / Sat / Sun in Jayne's World which included:🎤 A summer show at April Park Care Home in Sheffield, which conveniently meant I got to see Twin 2 at the same time.🍽 Taking Twin 2 (AKA Isobel) out for lunch.🛍 A quick mooch around Sheffield city centre, where I spotted some excellent Toy Story merchandise in Primark that definitely didn't need to come home with me.🐻 Taking a couple of oars to a Bear. As you do.🚗 Returning a rogue banner to one-third of The LahDiDahs🐴 Delivering some horses for Woody. Again, a perfectly normal sentence in my line of work.💍 Lunch at my sister's wedding venue (just 3 weeks to go!) and a discussion about the music. Queen: no. Indie: no. Mr Brightside: absolutely not.🎶 A 50s/60s show at Copt Oak Memorial Hall on Saturday evening.🪩 Sunday was rounded off with a couple of children's discos.Some people spend their weekends relaxing. 🇬🇧 6th June 1944 🇬🇧Today marks the anniversary of D-Day, when Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy in what became the largest seaborne invasion in history.Over 156,000 British, American and Canadian troops landed on five beaches codenamed Gold, Juno, Sword, Omaha and Utah. Behind them came thousands more servicemen, vehicles and supplies, beginning the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi occupation.One fact that always amazes me is that by the end of D-Day, more than 7,000 ships and landing craft had taken part in the operation.
