Very sad to hear of the passing of my friend Stan Streather โ€“ known to so many in the 1940s community for his brilliant portrayal of Winston Churchill.I had the pleasure of working alongside Stan at various events over the years and he always showed me nothing but kindness. He had such a strong presence, yet was so down to earth โ€“ I always enjoyed our chats, laughs, and the moments in between the performances just as much as seeing him command a crowd with his speeches.Stanโ€™s portrayal of Churchill was second to none โ€“ authentic, powerful, and full of respect for the history he represented. Eighteen. โค๏ธAt 6.23am and 6.24am on Tuesday 8th May 2007, my tiny warriors entered the world 12 weeks early โ€“ weighing just 2lb 6oz and 3lb 1oz. Isobel and Carys, my beautiful twins, my greatest achievement.I honestly donโ€™t have the words (well, not many!) to say how proud I am of the young women theyโ€™ve become. They are clever, kind, funny, and just absolutely brilliant to be around. Had a brilliant day at Darfield Community Centre in Barnsley for their Family VE Day ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งLorna and Blake have worked so hard to make the centre a real asset to the community โ€“ itโ€™s a welcoming space that hosts everything from parent-and-baby groups to events like this one.
