Bit of a busy Easter weekend this one…Friday I was at Kingfisher Court in Sutton-in-Ashfield — always a nice one to do, and the residents and staff made me very welcome. Saturday was a private party then Sunday I was over at Nottingham Care Village for their Easter Fayre — loads going on and a really good turnout from relatives. They always make a huge effort for special occasions. Warm up night at @theearlofdoncaster The Earl of Doncaster Hotel Just over 50 of is arriving a night before the main shenanigans start - a great night punctuated by DJ Daz's 1940s Music Bingo... rumour has it it's still going on now....A hearty breakfast followed by watching an old movie in the Ballroom - this years movie of choice is Stormy Weather from 1943. Make up lady has arrived and hair is also in full swing courtesy of Karen Bebbington and @edelweissvintagehair . Looking forward to an entertaining afternoon with Sadie - Yorkshire Singer @sadie_yorkshiresinger and of course DJ Major Swing and Kitty. Tonight we have Swingamathing And we are just on Friday! Friday was a lovely day - first over at the Oaklands for a Mother's Day lunch then headed over to Derby for a special birthday celebration - made even more special by an appearance by Tom the therapy dog from Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs . Had such a lovely day yesterday working as an extr Had such a lovely day yesterday working as an extra on a short film set in 1937 – completely my era. We were filming at the gorgeous Hotham Hall, which was the perfect backdrop for it all. I got to spend the day with my fabulous 40s “husbands” @johnnyvictory1940 Johnny Victory - Vintage Singer and Entertainer and The James, and it was so nice seeing lots of familiar faces from the vintage scene. On the way home I nipped into Sheffield to see one of my daughters and we went out for a Thai meal. Properly rounded off a really good day. A really special afternoon performing at Millfield A really special afternoon performing at Millfield Nursing Home in Bolsover for their Veterans Afternoon Tea 🇬🇧 I had the pleasure of singing a selection of wartime favourites and classic songs from the 40s, with plenty of singing along, toe-tapping and a few lovely memories shared along the way. Bolsover is best known for its impressive Bolsover Castle, built in the 1600s and standing proudly over the town — a proper Derbyshire landmark and a great setting to be back performing in the area. Thank you to the team at Millfield for such a well-organised afternoon and for looking after everyone so brilliantly.
