Bringing you Care Home Entertainment online & in person this Christmas
It’s been a tough year for everyone but you can still enjoy a live and fully personalised Christmas Show for your Care Home / Residential Home. Music is such an important part of the activities programme for any home but especially for those catering for residents with dementia. Research suggests that singing or listening to songs provides behavioural and emotional benefits for people with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. Musical memories are often retained in Alzheimer’s disease because the brain areas linked to musical memory are almost undamaged by the disease.
Christmas Performances can be cast over Zoom, YouTube Live (on a private channel) or on a private Facebook group.
In Person Christmas Shows
Professional Care Home Entertainment – I am available to perform at Care Homes across Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Leicester and Lincoln.
- Performances can be done outside – I am fully wireless and have a small pop up marquee which can be erected in minutes.
- I have performed in gardens, on driveways, car parks and outside windows
- If your home allows for social distancing performances can take place indoors.
Virtual Christmas Shows for Care Homes
Taking Care Home Shows on line has been really successful this year and I have had great feedback. I have invested in sound and lighting equipment to ensure that my shows are the highest quality.
- Shows can be transmitted over Zoom, YouTube Live (private link) or via a Private Facebook group.
- Professional sound and lighting equipment is used ensuring a smooth and quality show
- Shows are unique and personalised to your home. Requests and dedications can be taken and shows can be performed at any time (subject to availability)
- For shows broadcast over YouTube live they remain on there for 30 days meaning that you can replay the show for residents who may have missed the live performance
Pre-Recorded Christmas Shows
If live shows are not an option for you I can record a totally bespoke 30 minute show for you which will be uploaded onto a private link on YouTube to be viewed at anytime. This is perfect for residents who may be confirmed to their rooms and it also means the show can be viewed multiple times over a 30 day period.

I am also available to put together a professionally recorded 10 – 15 minute personalise singing telegram for a special occasion such as a residents birthday. I can include
Worried about the Residents not engaging?
This has been a worry for many care homes but the residents have reacted really well and thoroughly enjoyed the shows. You can make the show an event by:
- Treating the online show as if I was there in person
- Advertising it to your residents as you would a normal show
- Embrace the theme – Giving the residents musical instruments (if you are able), getting dressed up for the occasion and I can also provide PDF lyrics if requested
- Making sure the show is linked from a laptop or tablet to the TV or TV’s through the home
- Asking for music requests or dedications at the time of booking including any birthdays or any other important information that would be useful for me to know
Easy – Even for the technophobes!!
To stream a live show all you need is an Internet connection, however to get the best value out of your show you might want to look at the following easy and inexpensive ways of broadcasting the show:
- Linking your laptop / phone / tablet to the TV – if you TV is ‘smart’ and linked to the Internet this is straightforward. You might also have a firestick or equivalent to link wirelessly to the TV
- If wireless is not an option a HDMi cable can be used. This can be bought in various cable lengths with different connectors for laptops / phones / tablets. They are cheap to purchase off Ebay or Amazon
- The easiest and most fail safe way of broadcasting a live show is by using YouTube live – all you need to do is follow the link that is sent. It’s a private link meaning that no one else can watch unless you allow them to. YouTube Live and Facebook means that I cannot see or interact with the staff or residents however many choose to keep in touch with me via text message through the show
- For a more interactive experience Zoom is a great option especially if your residents are responsive and you have a phone or tablet that can be my ‘eyes’ in the room

In person shows:
Weekdays between £60 and £80 depending on location
Weekends between £80 and £90 per performance depending on location
Shows typically last 50 minutes – 1 hour
Virtual Shows
Virtual Shows are 50 minutes- 1 hour in length and can be replayed multiple times
